It's Football Season: TCU/K-STATE GAMEDAY APPAREL

It's football season so whether you're cheering on the Horned Frogs or the Wildcats, you need a super cute outfit to wear to that game!
On the left we have a little more of an elevated look, because at TCU the girls are still trying to make a fashion statement (it is Texas after all). This purple floral Spell top, b-low the belt pewter clutch, purple/blue iridescent Swarovski crystal earrings, some cute Dolce Vita western-esque booties and a pair of flattering AG Farrah Cropped Jeans are perfect for a game day in Fort Worth. Check out Leddy's in the stockyards for some custom-made cowboy boots!
On the right we have a little bit more laid-back look, with a cute asymmetric white top from Fifteen Twenty, some AG Farrah Cropped Jeans, a purple geode necklace on an amethyst stone chain (by local KC designer, Julie Zancanelli), some Dolce Vita fringe booties, and a cute K-State cup for your pregame action that can be purchased at the Kansas State bookstore.
Stop into Alysa Rene for all of your cute game day outfits!
(Check back on Friday for Mizzou/Iowa gameday outfits).

It's Football Season: KU/SMU Gameday Apparel

It's football season so whether you tailgate or boulevard, you need a super cute outfit to wear to that game!

On the left we have a little bit more laid-back look, with a cute red top, some blue jeans, blue Swarovski earrings (we have dark blue earrings and bracelets by Swarovski in the store), and some cute gold sandals. Check in the store for various other blue or red top options! #RCJHKU

On the right we have a little more of an elevated look, because at SMU Boulevard-ing is more of the sport than the actual game itself. This blue dress, sunglasses, blue earrings (by a local KC designer, Julie Zancanelli), and fashion cowboy booties are topped off only by one of the cute SMU pins found at McCartney's Spirit Shop on Hillcrest Avenue in Dallas. #PonyUp

Stop into Alysa Rene for all of your cute game day outfits!

(Check back on Tuesday for KState/TCU gameday outfits).

Packing for the Adventure

Whether or not you are heading back to college or relocating for your dream job, packing is possibly the most daunting task you will have.

One of the things I want to help with today is the car or plane ride outfit, and the subsequent clothing that you should have in a tote bag or your carry-on that will make drinks with a friend or a late night dinner (once you reach your destination) as seamless as possible.

1. It's always appalling to me how cold planes can get, however, with this amazing Free People duster ($168) you will be warm and bonus! it will double as a blanket for the journey.

2. One of the things that is commonly overlooked when dressing for the trip, is wearing your most comfortable bra. How horrible is it when you have a bar clasp poking you? Or what about that pesky underwire rubbing? This Free People Bralette ($38) will keep you comfortable for the duration.

3. I always like to travel in something that isn't going to draw a lot of attention to myself. I usually opt for a pair of cute skinny jeans like these awesome Adriano Goldschmied Leatherettes ($245) and an easy white tee like this awesome tacked-sleeve MINKPINK guy ($50). Cute and comfortable without giving people someone to gawk at.

4. On either a road trip or a plane ride, I like to be able to take off my shoes easily (hello TSA), so I am loving either the cute fringe booties from Dolce Vita ($180) or the amazing black motorcycle booties from Dolce Vita ($168) that can easily zip on and off causing zero delays when I'm jumping out to fill up the tank with gas or when I'm zipping through the security line.

5. When I reach my final destination, I usually have a dinner or drinks with friends to jet to, so I always keep a fun throw-on dress like this one from Free People ($108) in my carry-on or travel tote with appropriate shoes for the outfit (Dolce Vita Fringe booties) so I can avoid keeping my friends waiting any longer than they already have.

6. If I'm going to an even more casual event once I arrive, like drinks and a new episode of Scandal at a friends condo, I like to have the easy option of throwing on a statement necklace like this one from House of Harlow 1960 ($178) with my jeans and tee that elevate the easy outfit enough for the atmosphere.

So here it is--8 easy pieces (5 to wear, 3 to pack for later) that will keep you ready for wherever the adventure is taking you.

All pieces currently available at Alysa Rene in Park Place Leawood.

About a Brand: Spell & The Gypsy Collective

There is a new label at Alysa Rene, and it is called Spell.

A little background about Spell:
"Spell & The Gypsy Collective is a modern-bohemian fashion brand, inspired by far-off places, vintage treasures and childhood memories. The label is known worldwide for its gypsy-inspired creations that nod to eras gone by, and it’s story began with two sisters, Isabella and Elizabeth, who made things together as children in a house filled with artistic creativity.

The label began when Isabella (whose childhood nickname was Spell) started selling her hand-made jewellery at Byron Bay’s local artisan markets. Before too long Elizabeth had an epiphany that she needed to be in Byron Bay with her sister, so left her Bondi Beach home and career as a film editor to become Spell’s business partner.

From there the label has expanded into fashion, accessories and homewares, so women with that inner-bohemian spirit can have a little piece of Byron Bay with them wherever they roam.

The signature Spell look with it’s ‘gypsy prints’, vintage inspired lace, tassels, embroidery and other embellishments, is now a cult-classic at music festivals, road-trips and island getaways around the globe."

Sale Steals

Alysa Rene is having an end of summer sale, and I combed through the merchandise to bring you five pieces that you should have on your radar.

Two of the three tops I chose are basics and both high-quality Michael Stars pieces that would be great additions to any closet. The third top I chose is a Trina Turk hot pink, sleeveless blouse that contains interesting lines and would be perfect with a pair of jeans for a date night, drinks with friends, or even to wear to your child's season opening football game.

The two dresses I chose are easy throw-on dresses for a variety of different events. The dress on the left by Keepsake has a light grey pattern, is pleated in the front, and has a high rolled neck. It's a very elegant dress that has a short hemline that shows off your bronzed summer legs. The dress on the right by Tart contains a tribal pattern and a half sleeve which will be great for the fall. This dress would look really cute with any of the booties (shown in this post, bottom left) that Alysa Rene currently has in stock. I would do the cute black motorcycle booties that just came in!

Tops:
1. Michael Stars, originally: $78-, now: $39-
2. Trina Turk, originally: $168-, now: $84-
3. Michael Stars, originally: $40-, now: $20-

Dresses:
1. Keepsake, originally: $180-, now: $90-
2. Tart, originally: $138-, now: $69-

All Black Everything

The top line designers as folows: c/meo Collective, Fifteen Twenty, Fifteen Twenty
Second line designers: Dolce Vita, B-Low the Belt, Dolce Vita

There is nothing chicer than an all black outfit, and let's be honest, it's also the simplest outfit we can put together.

There is a reason Coco Chanel popularized the little black dress, and a reason that it has stayed timeless and relevant in a world of constant change.

For fall, Alysa Rene is receiving so many great little black dresses, with super cute black booties and accessories to go with them. We are loving the various styles represented in each of these dresses from the cowl neck to the asymmetric layers in the fifteen twenty dresses. And who doesn't want a pair of these Dolce Vita side-zip motorcycle booties? In love.

When it comes to the topic we addressed recently, statement pieces, your LBD(s) are imperative to a classic, working wardrobe. (So are a pair of black booties).

All pieces currently available at Alysa Rene Boutique in Leawood, Kansas.

Cool People Smile

Ending the week on an upbeat note, if you guys don't own a Peace Love World tee, you should probably head over to Alysa Rene Boutique and procure one for yourself. All of the sayings promote peace, love, and positivity. I really love the "Cool People Smile" tee and the "I love Sundays" sweatshirt; pretty much the softest thing I have ever felt.

The best thing about these tees besides spreading positive vibes in a world that desperately needs them, is the fact that a portion of each sale goes to various great organizations, and you are bringing smiles to those around you. How cool is that?

All tees currently available at Alysa Rene Boutique in the Park Place Shops-Leawood, Kansas.
